The problem of running Appeon web app in multi tab pages on Chrome
Posted by Ken Guo on 17 August 2016 04:25 PM

Phenomenon:

If you has run the Appeon web app on Chrome 52 or later version, then when you run another Appeon web app in the new tab, the app will freeze and the UI of both apps will be overlapped, and only the first tab page can run the app.

Solutions:

Solution #1: Please follow up the steps below to work around this issue.

Step 1: Close all Web browsers.

Step 2: Uninstall the Appeon multi-browser plug-in from the Control Panel.

Step 3: Run the attached appeonbrowser.exe file.

Step 4: Run the application.

Solution #2: Please follow up the steps below to work around this issue.

Step 1: Use the attached appeonbrowser.exe file to replace the one on the Appeon server (for example: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\appeon\weblibrary_ax\crossbrowser\appeonbrowser.exe).

Step 2: Uninstall the Appeon multi-browser plug-in from the Control Panel.

Step 3: Run the attached appeonbrowser.exe.

Step 4: Run the application.

BTW, this issue has been fixed in the Appeon 2016 GA version. However, due to the anti hijack mode of the Chrome the user will run into another issue when running multi web apps in multi tab pages: when running the web app in the second, third,… tab pages, the tab page will display blank, and the UI of the app will show after you click the blank. Therefore, it is recommended to run the web apps in new Chrome window but not run it in the new tab page if there are multi web apps running, and close the browsers when exiting the app.
