Posted by Nico Wang on 22 February 2019 05:18 PM

Appeon PowerBuilder 2019 Beta 2 is available for testing now! If you are an existing Appeon PowerBuilder customer or an Elevate 2018 attendee, please join us in this beta program. Your beta testing efforts and feedback will help us build a better product and put forth an even stronger product roadmap.

We hope you will make the time to evaluate and provide us feedback on the following key new features:

Appeon Installer

  • Online installation procedure - using the Download and Install button.

C# Educational Resources

C# Migration

  • Migrating an existing DataWindow/DataStore to the new C# DataStore - select the RMB menu Generate Data Models (C#) on the DataObject in the PowerBuilder IDE.
  • Using the project template feature of the SnapDevelop IDE, developing a C# Web API using the migrated C# DataStore.
  • Modifying your DataWindow control to call the migrated C# DataStore using the RESTClient object.

C# Development

  • Using the project template feature of the SnapDevelop IDE, developing a C# Web API with the new C# ModelStore and/or ModelMapper.
  • Using the project template feature of the SnapDevelop IDE, adding xUnit unit testing to your C# Web API.

Of course we hope you will go beyond these key new features and explore all that you can do with C# in this release at https://www.appeon.com/support/documents/appeon_online_help/snapdevelop2019/features_list.

However, please refrain from doing any C# development with the PowerBuilder IDE. We have not yet completed integrating SnapDevelop into the PowerBuilder IDE. So please exclusively use SnapDevelop to explore the new C# features (with the exception of DataWindow/DataStore migration to C#).
