How to resolve the Error 0x80040702 occurring during the Appeon installation process

When installing the Appeon server it run into the similar error as below, which interrupts the installation process.

Cause 1:

The Appeon installation program has been clicked repeatedly, and there are multi instances of the Appeon installation program running, which lead install shield to errors internally.

Solution 1:

Clean up the Appeon components by referring to the article posted in the below link.

Close the other applications before installing Appeon and run one Appeon installation problem at one time. Exit all installation if you found there are multi Appeon installation instances running, and then end the process of msiexec.exe and IDriver.exe. Finally rerun the Appeon installation program.

Cause 2:

The Appeon installation program cannot successfully release all files due to the security software or the local/domain strategy on the client machine.

Solution 2:

  1. Log into the PC with the administrator.
  2. Use the Run as Administrator to run the Appeon installation program.
  3. Check and make sure there is no security software or the local/domain strategy keeping Appeon installation program from releasing the files.
